Martin Breckheimer, PhD

Martin is an accomplished international corporate finance professional with comprehensive experience in providing constructive financial services within business and to his clients.

As a commercial banker he is versed in international settings of corporate finance, export finance and project finance. He provides value by structuring and executing strategic funding plans for ventures or businesses within relevant legislation. This collaboration with business may include appropriate hedging, further risk mitigation as well as syndication.

Martin’s latest corporate role was Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking with LBBW, New York Branch. He was responsible for a diverse loan portfolio of engineering and manufacturing companies of USD 2.6 billion and continuously raised funds through the bank or in the capital markets for the purpose of financing investments, acquisitions, working capital solutions and projects.

Previously, he worked as Head of the International and Export and Trade Finance Departments at Commerzbank, New York Branch, changing the funding format of the existing portfolio during the financial crisis of 2008, mitigating risks, introducing new products and successfully closing landmark transactions in the energy, steel and manufacturing sectors.

Martin currently is the Treasurer of the Friends of Freiburg Alumni Association in New York. The native German holds dual EU-US citizenship and is also fluent in French and Spanish.
