Daniel performs due diligence reviews for Vine Ventures' biotech, medical, and media projects and writes reports on scientific and media topics for Vine Ventures partners. He holds an M.A. (Mol. Immunology) from the University of California - San Francisco; an M.A. (Cinema) from San Francisco State University, and a B.Sc. (Cell Biol.) from the University of British Columbia.
As Director, Producer, and Cinematographer, Daniel has made ten films, comprising dance-films and experimental documentaries informed by science. Festival and museum screenings of his work include Locarno, Montréal festival des films du monde, Seattle Int'l (Best of Fest Shorts), New York Dance on Camera (2 Silver prizes), Golden Prague (Dagmar & Vaclav Havel Foundation Prize), Toronto Moving Pictures (Audience Choice Award), and ZDF's Berlin Tanzfilmnacht. His work has been exhibited at the Portland Art Museum and UBC's Anthropology Museum, and broadcast on PBS, CBC, Bravo, TVE, ZDF, and others. He was Co-writer/Executive Producer on the anti-fracking film Fractured Land. He has published two papers in Contemporary Aesthetics and a book chapter (on Robert Wilson) for the Arts Arena, American University of Paris.
